1. Generation background
For a long time, the plasticizer mainly consists of o-benzene products. However, with the increasingly widespread application of DOP in the food and pharmaceutical industries, it is found that the plasticizer has the risk of precipitation, especially in the category of wires and cables in PVC soft products, and the traditional liquid plasticizer has the tendency of precipitation, which has a negative impact on the application of materials, such as the mechanical properties and electrical properties of PVC cables. Therefore, it is required to reduce the amount of liquid plasticizer to reduce its precipitation risk. However, the decrease of plasticizer dosage will inevitably bring about other problems, such as material hardness, low temperature performance, tensile strength agent elongation at break, and so on. Thus, solid plasticizer came into being.
2. Principle of action
Solid plasticizers need to have specific chemical composition and specific chemical structure, such as specific pore structure. As a result, the solid plasticizer has the adsorption property to small molecule plasticizers such as DOP, thus playing a "fixed" role to small molecule plasticizers to avoid migration and precipitation of small molecule compounds. In addition, solid plasticizers need to have good compatibility with PVC molecules, so that they can have a good intertwining effect and have good dispersion performance in PVC products.
3. Application category
Solid plasticizers are mainly used in PVC soft products and PVC semi hard products. They are usually used together with liquid plasticizers. Adding 1-3 portions of solid plasticizers in the standard formula can significantly improve the precipitation of plasticizers in PVC products
